Team Communication – 8/5/11


  1. Season Wrap Up – The last swim meet of the season, for Buenaventura Swim Club, was the Summer Junior Olympics (JO’s) contested in Mission Viejo.  Buena earned an 11thplace finish, a mere 6 points out of 10thplace.  The team showed a lot of progress and our young swimmers gained valuable experience they can build on for next year.  For results, visit the following link: visit, click on results, then find Mission Viejo JO’s.
  2. Schedule Reminder – Today, Friday, August, 5this the last day of practice for this season.  The 2011-2012 season will begin on Monday, August 22ndat regular Fall/Winter/Spring hours.  Registration for both new AND returning families will be Tuesday and Thursday, September 6thand 8threspectively, time to be announced, but most likely will be 5:00pm to 6:30pm each day. 
  3. Fair Parade Details – Buenaventura Swim Club is entered in the Ventura Fair Parade!  Come one, come all, show your team spirit and participate in the parade.  Don’t forget to wear your Buena T-Shirts.  The two attachments include a site map as well as time, location, and other relevant information.  Please contact Rosemary Takeda at 805/794-3966 with any questions. 
  4. Swimmers in the Spotlight – Don’t forget to check out the website to see our “Swimmers in the Spotlight” for July/August, 2011.  Austin Takeda, Niles Biolley, Taylor Snell, Emily Findlay, Jayna Sponseller, Kayla Ramirez, Natalie Ramirez, and Emily Ball all did a great job last month and were selected by their coach for recognition. 
  5. Chesna Biolley breaks additional Team Records – Over the week of July 20 – 25th, Chesna competed at the California and Nevada Sectional Swim Meet in Clovis CA and broke three team records to bring her season total up to 4 Team Records.  She already owns the record in the 200 IM, but now she also has the team record in the 200 meter Butterfly (previously held since 7/1989), the 200 meter Breast (previously held since 8/1985), and the 400 meter IM (previously held since 6/1988).  Way to go Chesna!
