Update from Palo Alto

Hey everyone, it's Kyra again :) This morning, I swam the 50 Free during time trials and got a best time of 26.95, making my second junior national cut!

Kelsi (from the NJ team that visited us in June) swam the 100 fly this morning in 1:03.30 which wasn't a best time and unfortunately she didn't make finals. She made the C final last night in the 100 free and came in third in her heat with a time of 57.27 missing her first Olympic trial cut by .2.

The energy at finals is like nothing I have ever experienced before. Everyone is cheering on their teammates and the atmosphere is just so exciting!

With no finals today for Kelsi, we headed out to Santa Cruz beach and walked along the boardwalk. It was very cloudy and pretty chilly! Even with the cold weather, we still had a great time!

Unfortunately, the fairies have yet to pay us a visit in Palo Alto. We did meet the flying elephants which stopped by our lovely motel room earlier today giving us magical cotten candy. I am looking forward to eating it once the meet is over! I will tell the elephants to fly over and visit the zones children at Penn State and also give them some Cotten candy to munch on.

Kyra :)
