The Marin Pirates had 5 individual event qualifiers (tying our greatest number ever) and 2 relay only swimmers at the ConnocoPhillips National Long Course Championships held at Stanford August 2-6. The Pirates went a strong 9 best times out of 12 events swum.
The team was led by newcomer Scott Weltz, who took 10th in the 200 m Breast, 18th in the 200 IM and 21st in the 100 Breast. All three events were well under the Olympic Trial qualifying times.
Kathryn Murphy added the 100 Freestyle to the 50 Free for Olympic Trial qualifying times.
Matt Herman recorded his first Olympic Trial qualifying time in the 1500 m Free.
