JULY SWIMMER OF THE MONTH
Despite a battle with Mono in the Spring, that caused her to miss 7 weeks of swimming, Lindsey Thorpe of the Kairos Swim Club lost no hope and patiently built herself back up to full speed at practice. She lifts weights and runs with her Mother and sister ,3 times a week, in order to be the best swimmer that she can be. Her hard work paid off at the Qualifier meet in July when she dropped 9 seconds off of her 200 M Freestyle and bettered her times in every single event!
Always willing to help with the younger members of the team, Lindsey's enthusiasm and love of the sport inspires all of her teammates to do better as well. Her 45 minutes commute to practice is spent studying in the car, which has led to honor roll grades. Her coach, Annie Lindland, often sees Lindsey reading and studying on deck before practice! This soccer playing swimmer truly deserves the July Swimmer of the Month!
