AUGUST SWIMMER OF THE MONTH
Kathleen Golding started swimming when she was 8 years old and by the end of her first year has set 6 new team records! She moved on to become the overall high point scorer for "10 and under" at NE Age Groups in Feb of 2011 and again in July of 2011. Her goal this year was to qualify for the New England Zone Team, which she did, and she went on to be overall high point scorer for the 10 and under division.
Kathleen is a very focused swimmer, always setting goals for herself and working hard to achieve them. Her favorite stoke is freestyle and her favorite workout would always include a freestyle kick set. She usually tries to avoid butterfly whenever possible but she LOVES to anchor relays so that she can chase other swimmers down and win the race. Other interests outside of swimming include drama club, chorus and learning to play the flute.
Kathleen's coaches on Manchester Swim Team (MST) say that she lives for the challenge of practice and meets. No matter what the challenge, she always looks forward to it in a positive way, and focuses on the sport in a mature, easygoing manner. Her willingness to be coached and make corrections is what makes her such a success in the pool!
