8TH ANNUAL INTRASQUAD MEET (CONCESSIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN HIGH SCHOOL HALLWAY)
On Saturday, October 8, the Mason Manta Rays will host the 8th Annual Pentathlon at the Mason Community Center.
NOTES: The high school commons will
not be available for the meet due to a rental.
Please use the high school aquatic locker rooms or the Community
Center locker rooms during the meet. We will have access to
the lawn outside. Feel free to bring gear to sit
This Intrasquad meet is where all Manta Ray swimmers are placed on one of two equal teams, the Blue & Green teams. Swimmers, who are 8 and under will swim 25 yards of each stroke and a 100-yard I.M., while the 9 and over swimmers will swim 50 yards of each stroke and a 100 I.M. If a swimmer is not ready for a particular event, they will not have to swim every event. We will also be offering a 500 freestyle for those who do not have an official time. Coaches will enter interested swimmers. Scoring will be divided by age groups: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18. This fun meet is a chance for all swimmers and parents to experience how a USA Swimming meet is run in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. The meet is a sanctioned USA Swimming meet; therefore, all times will count!
Individual pictures will begin to be taken at 7:30 a.m. and the team picture will be at 8:15 a.m. in the pool area. PLEASE BE ON TIME FOR THE TEAM PICTURE. EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT SWIMMING IN THE MEET, WE WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO STILL MAKE THE PICTURE INDIVIDUAL PICTURES WILL START AT 7:30 AND BE DONE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. Mason Community Center - Mason, Ohio
Recommended For: All groups
Registration Deadline: 10/1
Meet Format: Timed Finals
When you enter the
competition pool, please do not sit in the center of the
bleachers. This is where the swimmers will be standing for
the team photo. Once the picture is taken, the entire
bleacher area will be available. Kids who want to be in the
team picture should be in their team suit or a suit as close to
navy blue as possible as many haven't received the new suit
yet. We are still awaiting the arrival of the
caps. This meet is the only one we will not require the
swimmers to come see us before and after a race as a team.
However, your swimmers coach may try to encourage them to see them
to try and establish good habits.
A general reminder: during practices, parents are not permitted on the pool deck (USA Swimming rule). This includes sitting at the door at the end of practice. Parents are more than welcome to sit and watch practice in the bleachers. Also, during meets, only those parents who are volunteering to work the meet are permitted on the pool deck. Spectators should remain in the stands (USA Swimming rule). Violations of either rule put our club's membership with USA Swimming at risk. If you are asked to sit in the stands by a coach, lifeguard, or official, please do not take it personally.
We will be selling the heat sheet as well at the meet as well as posting it online (SEE LINK BELOW TO PRINT YOUR FREE HEAT SHEET). This is a great way to kick of the season and a great way to see the entire team in action.
