Weekly Update

Greetings all Aquacowboy Families .  It’s been an eventful week, with results from a great swim meet, and the birth of Coach Lisa and her husband Nathan’s baby boy Isaac!

Here is some information about Lisa and Nathan’s baby boy Isaac:

Born: 10-11-11 at 2:36 pm

Weight: 8 pounds 5 ounces

Length: 20.5 inches

Full name: Isaac Terrence White

Lisa and the baby are doing great .  We wish Coach Lisa and Nathan a great period of bonding with little Isaac at this special time and look forward to seeing her and the baby sometime down the road.

Funny Story:   When Coach Leslie told the Novice 2 swimmers Lisa had her baby, they said, “Great, why isn’t she here yet?  We want to meet him.”

Here’s a quote for the week:

The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.”  Vince Lombardi

This quote applies to this time of the season when the weather is starting to change, school is challenging, and practices are also challenging.  Remember, the effort you put forth now will fuel your great performances at meets.

Here are some highlights from the AIA meet:

New B times achieved:  Larissa, Megan W., Victoria, Jessica, Faith, Paige, Jack, Melinda, Hannah, Sasha, and Sydney.  Great job!  One of the highlights was watching Larissa achieve her first B time in the 50 free with the help of an awesome gut zone finish!

New A times achieved:  Sofia M., Matthew, Jared H., Celine, Brianna, Jessica P., Adrianna, Kinsey, Annelyse, Sophia P., Nick, Taber, Jacqueline, Amanda, Katie, Julia, Paige, Franco, Collin, AnneMarie, Tori, and Tucker.  Many of these swimmers are between 1-2 seconds away from new JO times.  Let’s make every effort to break into the next level and have some outstanding swims at our meet next weekend!

New JO times achieved:  Sarah, Josh, Christine, Turner, Jenna, Stephen and Megan.  Way to go!  This was a breakout meet for you.  Keep up the awesome efforts in practice and Far Westerns and Sectionals will be next!

New PRT and FARW times achieved:  Caroline.  Caroline made a new Pacific Recordable time in the 50 free with a 28, and a new FARW time in the 200 free!  Way to go Caroline.  You are a leader for our 10&un core group.

Upcoming Events:

LAC meet October 22-23:  This is sure to be a wonderful meet for our team, with such great help from Meet Director Ananth, Dave Clark, Anne Moufarrej, Kris Kulp, Judy Elliott, and so many other great organizers.  The kids are excited about having our own meet and we are ready to display some awesome performances at RLCC, which is the host pool for the EBAL champs and is a very fast venue.

TRIV/ LAC/ NW tri meet :  Friday night, November 4th.  Please commit to this meet through our Team Unify website.  A link will be made in which you can enter the meet through our website.  The cost for this meet is a flat fee of $10 per swimmer, regardless of how many events are entered.  Everyone is expected to enter 4 events.  Coaches will organize relays.  Pre-Seniors, and Seniors must enter 2 of 3 longer events (200 free, 200 IM or 100 free).  Please make checks out to LAC.  LAC will write one team check to TRIV to cover cost of entries.

TERA SR ¾ November 11-13:   This meet  is for Seniors only or swimmers that have Senior ¾ times.

WCAB CBA+:   This is a team meet.  All swimmers are expected to enter.  This will be the last chance for many swimmers to qualify for JO’s in December.  Senior swimmers are expected to enter Saturday only in place of practice.  You may choose your events but must enter at least 3 events.

Thank you all Aquacowboy families for the awesome energy you put into our team.   We are growing stronger and it is a lot of fun to see the progress of the swimmers not only with their swim times but also in how they support and encourage each other.  Let’s have another great week leading up to our swim meet!
