EBAT Rocks the ONDA meet!

This past weekend marked another great swim meet for the Junior Group,
with everyone recording multiple best times! We also have some extra
special acknowledgements. Mark Gruzman swam in his first meet in over
a year and recorded all best times, going under 1:30 in his 100
freestyle for the first time ever. Stuti Bansal swam in her first
meet with EBAT and after a sub-par first event, showed her resiliency
and determination by rocking the 50 freestyle. Way to go guys!

The Junior Group also cleaned up on A times at this meet. Lydia Deng
swam new A times in her 100 IM, 100 freestyle and 50 breaststroke,
Jasper Gong got A times in both his 50 and 100 freestyle, and Gabi
Blanche received an A time in her 50 freestyle. In a heart breaker,
Karina Yamashita was less than two seconds away from a new A time in
the grueling 500 freestyle - however, she did record personal bests in
all her other events.

RC Zen had a number of great swims, but his 100 butterfly was by far
his best performance. Anthony Chew continued to lower his sub-30
second mark in his 50 freestyle and dropped time in his 200
breaststroke and 200 freestyle.

Not to be outdone by the older kids, the dynamos from Age Group 1 had
some fantastic races this weekend. Lindsay Brown won the 25 butterfly
and in the same event Ashley Sand swam a new B time. Alisha Zen swam
personal best times in all her events.

Other highlights include Lindsay Brown breaking more records and forcing Coach Mark to update the record board after every meet.  (I am going to have to set aside extra time for this if Lindsay is going to keep breaking records).  Cynthia Le seems to just keep getting better and better every meet.  She seems to always be improving her times.  Sebastian Balica collected a few more Junior Olympic times and managed to break Carson Sand's 10 & under 500 free record.  Way to go Sebastian!  Lydia Deng posted 7 best times out of 8 swims!  Anthony Chew and RC Zen continue to drop time in most of there swims and Jasper Gong improved 5 events out of 5 swims last weekend.  Carson Sand is closing in on a Far Western cut, as well as a senior time in the 200 breast.  Cassidy Rubino came to her first meet this season and posted some pretty impressive swims.  I'm sure she's looking forward to improving over this season.  Our newest swimmer to the group, Jenna Hee, had some impressive swims as well.  I can see some big improvements in the future for her as I am learning that this girl is quite talented and does not seem to have any weak strokes.
