Rockford & Freeport at DCST
DCST moved to 6 – 0 on the season with wins over Rockford and Freeport. As a team, DCST had 130 new career best individual swims, including 14 first time district qualifying times, and 3 new swims which surpassed the area qualifying time standard.

After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Sophie Jones, age 10, and Nicholas Lockhart, age 7, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.

DCST’s next full team meet is our Barb Wire Invitational on Saturday, December 13.  Everyone is highly encouraged to attend this event.  For our rookies, this will be their first chance at swimming in an invitational.  With a 5 week break between meets, the DCST Coaching Staff is expecting many big time drops at this meet.  Swimmers who have yet to swim a legal breaststroke or butterfly swim in a meet are highly encouraged to use this time period to make their strokes legal in these events.  The coaching staff would like to have as many of these swimmers swim their first legal swims in these events at the Barb Wire.
