Welcome back Swordfish!
It's Winter and its been getting (brrr) cold outside! Now may be the time to consider buying a new warm parka or large beach towel for when you exit the pool for your ride home!
Anyway- A big thank you to the Ridge for extending their hospitality to us again this year! …..And …Welcome back returning Fall Swordfish swimmers, I can't wait for us to work together to achieve some state Q times. We are going to work hard, swim fast, concentrating on improving times and technique.
Also welcome back to the water our returning HS Scorpion swimmers. For those of you who are not aware, our Scorpions did amazing this past High School swim season. The entire team did an incredible job, with major time drops, and improved technique. I am extremely proud of our high school swimmers. They represented Sedona very well, and our community should be exceptionally proud of the way our young men and women handled themselves displaying great sportsmanship.
Collectively, we won the Sedona/Mingus cup in our first annual event. The boys won “our region” at a meet held in October, and our girls had an impressive 2nd place finish.
At the State competition in November we had many top eight places in both individual and relay events. Over all this season the high school team was very strong both physically and in numbers.
As an aside, Coach Bronson was voted Division 2 boys Coach of the year.
Winter swim is going to be a blast. Keep in mind we are going to work hard, and still manage to have a little fun. We have three meets on the schedule…. So….ets get in the water!
Please remember to read the Ridge's rules, and also, due to the holiday we will have a modified practice schedule this week.
As always, If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
