DCST Welcomes back High School Girl Swimmers (3 Qualified for IHSA State Meet)
DCST would like to welcome back many of our high school aged girl swimmers who have been swimming with their high school teams. These girls just finished a very successful girl’s high school season. Overall, DCST had 12 girls represent 7 different high schools at 4 different sectional meets. Listed below are some of the highlights of the sectional and state swimmers from DCST.
Burlington Central – Ashley Start and Kristin Van Oost represented Burlington Central High School. There team was not allowed to score points at the St. Charles Sectional Meet.
DeKalb / Sycamore Co-op– Four girls on the DeKalb / Sycamore Sectional team are DCST swimmers (Natalie Carlson, Emily Cook, Tara Gidaszewski and Molly Olson). As a team, they finished 7th at the St. Charles Sectional Meet.
Kaneland- Theresa Alef and Melissa Cherry represented Kaneland High School. There team was not allowed to score points at the St. Charles Sectional Meet.
Marengo – Lexi Olson represented Marengo High School. Her team was not allowed to score points at the Byron Sectional Meet.
Ottawa – Brittnie Dean qualified for IHSA State Meet in the 100 yard Freestyle. Her team took 7th place at the East Moline Sectional Meet.
Rosary– Emily Launer was a part of the IHSA 3rd Place State Championship Team. Personally in the State Championship Meet, she finished 4th in the 500 yard Freestyle and 10th in the 200 yard Freestyle. She was also a member of Rosary’s 7th place 400 Freestyle Relay.
Sandwich - Sharron Isola qualified for IHSA State Meet in the 100 yard Butterfly. Her team was not allowed to score points at the St. Charles Sectional Meet.
