Greetings Aquacowboy Families! This is a short update to let you know some results from the recent 14un JO meet in Morgan Hill. There will also be a little bit of information on the winter schedule and on meets to sign up for after the break.
LAC Swimmers Break out at 14&un JO’s: This weekend we had some outstanding performances from our 14&un JO swimmers. While this year we had our highest number of qualifiers ever (17), many were first time 14&un JO participants including: Jenna, Josh, Chris, Kate, Paige, Brandon, Tori, Turner, Tucker, and Megan. Here are some highlights from the group-
Caroline- Made top 8 in the 50 fly and 50 free, and made top 16 in the 100IM, 200FR, and 100fly.
Shahini- Made top 16 in both the 100 and 200 breast, dropping nearly 2 seconds in the 100 breast. She also dropped 11 seconds in the 400 IM.
Paige- Dropped nearly a second in the 50 fly and dropped 4 seconds in the 100 back, making his first Far Western time ever!
Chris- Made the top 16 in his 50 fly, dropping nearly 2 seconds and making his first Far Western time ever!
Alex- Dropped nearly 2 seconds in the 200 back and was the fastest 13 year old boy in the event at the meet.
Kate, Tori, Brandon, Josh, Jenna- All equaled or beat their best times in the first ever 14&un JOs.
13-14 girls 200 Medley Relay- Cat, Shahini, Jenna, and Sarah, beat their entry time by four seconds and qualified for Far Westerns
13-14 girls 200 Free Relay- Jenna, Shahini, Megan, and Sarah, beat their entry time by four seconds and qualified for Far Westerns
Way to go 14&un JO swimmers!
We have a lot of young talented swimmers on our team. Our goal for next year is to take 30 swimmers to the meet and have over 100 swims! This will be a challenge, but with hard work and dedication we can do it!
Scholastic All-American: Nina Hayes was named a Scholastic All-American for 2010-2011. In order to qualify for this honor, a swimmer must achieve a G.P.A. above 3.5 and achieve qualifying times (faster than Sectionals). Great JOB Nina in School and in the Pool!
Swimmers of the Month: These swimmers are selected based on Attendance, Effort in Practice, Leadership, and Meet Performance-

Rewards for Great Grades: Remember to bring in those report cards and receive a smoothie at the club. Anyone achieving a 3.0 G.P.A. or equivalent for non- number grading systems is eligible. We want to celebrate your success in school!
Holiday Schedule: As noted in previous updates, there will be no practice December 19-24th. December 26th-29th, Junior 2- Senior group will swim 8-10 am. Novice 1 through Junior 1 will swim 10-11. There will be no practice for Pre-Comp this week.
