Greetings Aquacowboy Families!  This is a short update to let you know some results from the recent 14un JO meet in Morgan Hill.  There will also be a little bit of information on the winter schedule and on meets to sign up for after the break.

LAC Swimmers Break out at 14&un JO’s:  This weekend we had some outstanding performances from our 14&un JO swimmers.  While this year we had our highest number of qualifiers ever (17), many were first time 14&un JO participants including:  Jenna, Josh, Chris, Kate, Paige, Brandon, Tori, Turner, Tucker, and Megan.  Here are some highlights from the group-

Shahini-  Made top 16 in both the 100 and 200 breast, dropping nearly 2 seconds in the 100 breast.  She also dropped 11 seconds in the 400 IM.

Paige- Dropped nearly a second in the 50 fly and dropped 4 seconds in the 100 back, making his first Far Western time ever!

Kate, Tori, Brandon, Josh, Jenna-  All equaled or beat their best times in the first ever 14&un JOs.

Way to go 14&un JO swimmers!

We have a lot of young talented swimmers on our team.  Our goal for next year is to take 30 swimmers to the meet and have over 100 swims!  This will be a challenge, but with hard work and dedication we can do it!

Scholastic All-American:  Nina Hayes was named a Scholastic All-American for 2010-2011.  In order to qualify for this honor, a swimmer must achieve a G.P.A. above 3.5 and achieve qualifying times (faster than Sectionals).  Great JOB Nina in School and in the Pool!
