Dearest NFS Families,
With the Holiday Season upon us, we know that you have visions of family, friends, relaxation, and swim meets dancing around in your head. (...That's right, swim meets!). NFS (in a joint effort with Julington Creek) shall be hosting our first ever swim meet (Jacksonville Indoor Invitational) on our home turf at our beautiful indoor facility! This meet shall be held on January 28th and 29th, 2012, and we are hoping for 100% participation from our families. As of this note, it is thought that the 2-day meet shall consist of Preliminaries and Finals. (Swimmers aged 13 and over would swim in the morning; swimmers aged 12 and under would swim in the afternoon; timed finals only for those qualifiers aged 13 and over in the evening).
The charge from the NFS end shall be led by our very own Coach Carol and Coach Erin. These experienced organizational dynamos shall be enlisting the help of all of us in order to make this a great success! Please be on alert in the very near future for an email that will outline volunteer positions / responsibilities that we will need to fill. (For those of you who participated in the Summer League, this will be very familiar...). Please ensure that you sign up as soon as you can in order to get your first choice. Also, if any of you have connections to restaurants, grocery establishments, hotels, etc. we would ask that you contact them in order to see if they would be able to donate to our event. In exchange, we would be happy to hand out coupons, provide advertising in our heat sheet, etc. (Please contact Coach Erin for any questions or to share information).
We are very excited to be embarking upon this new endeavor, and can't wait to show the swimming community our meet running savviness, beautiful indoor facility, amazing hospitality, and fast swimmers (with great stroke technique)! With such a wonderful mix of families ready to step up, we know we will be successful. If you have any questions, please be sure to speak any of our Coaches, or any member of the Board (Mark, Steve, Shefali, Eva).
Cheers and Thank You So Much!
