6 DCST Swimmers Qualify for IHSA State Championships
There were 15 DCST swimmers who represented their high schools at the IHSA Sectional Championships last Saturday.
The entire DeKalb / Sycamore Co-op sectional roster included DCST Swimmers. These swimmers were:
Alex Dewitt, Tara Gidazewski, Casey Jepsen, Molly Olson, Kim Pearcy, Nicole Pearcy, Carly Primrose, Kate Taylor, Emily Waller and Grace Waller. As a team, they finished fourth at the St. Charles Sectional.
DCST swimmer Emily Launer represented her high school, Rosary, at the Naperville Sectional. Rosary won their sectional meet.
DCST also had an additional 4 swimmers at the Naperville Sectional. Since their teams do not have pools, these swimmers swim for DCST during the high school season, and they only represent their schools at the IHSA Sectional and State Championships. Unfortunately, these teams are not allowed to score points at these meets. These swimmers were as follows:
Plano High School – Katie and Rebecca Hallenbeck
Sandwich High School – Sharron Isola and Jessica Lauzon
DCST is extremely proud of all of our High School Girls performances this year. Furthermore, we would like to wish Casey Jepsen, Kate Taylor, Emily Waller, Grace Waller, Emily Launer and Katie Hallenbeck the best of luck this weekend at the IHSA State Finals.
For more information on the High School Sectionals Meets, there are 5 news articles from the DeKalb Chronicle and the Beacon News on our website under the header “DCST News".
