Greater Omaha Aquatics named a Bronze Medal Club by USA Swimming

USA Swimming released the 2012 Club Excellence results, and GOAL has been named a USA Swimming BRONZE MEDAL Club! This is the first time GOAL has achieved this honor, and GOAL is the only Midwestern team to earn this distinction this year!

The Club Excellence Program identifies the top 18 & under clubs based strictly on performance. The top 20 clubs are named Gold Medal clubs, the next 80 clubs are named Silver Medal clubs, and the remaining clubs with a Junior National qualifier are named Bronze Medal clubs. Points are based on world rankings, and only swimmers with LCM Junior National times are eligible.

According to the USA Swimming website, the program is designed to “promote the development of strong, well-rounded age group and senior swimming programs that produce elite 18 & under athletes;” and “provide recognition and resources to motivate and assist member clubs to strive for the highest ideals of athlete performance.”

GOAL was in the upper half of all bronze medal clubs, and is in a good postion to make a run at a silver medal designation in this current year.  This designation exemplifies the culmination of  tremendous team work. Congratulations to all GOAL athletes, parents, and coaches for being recognized as one of  THE premier swim teams in USA Swimming!
