The Southwest Ohio Classic Swim Meet concluded following last Sunday night Finals at Keating Natatorium at St Xavier High School. This year's largest High School meet in the country featured more than 3,200 athletes representing 110 schools across southwest Ohio at seven (7) preliminary sites. Manta Ray Zoe Thatcher (Soph-Mason HS) fought her way through their local preliminary sites in the morning, and headed to St. X HS for finals at night, winning three gold in this fast mid-season and unrested meet. The Classic is unique in that it features all USA swimming events rather than just the eleven (11) standard events used in High School competition. Alisabeth Marsteller (Soph-Ursuline) and John Galvin (SR-St. Xavier) were a big part of their HS's relays which also won gold!
- Zoe Thatcher (SO-Mason HS) won three events - 200 Free 1:52.00, 500 Free 4:54.82 (8th year in a row a Manta Ray has won this event), 1650 Free 16:49.76
- Alisabeth Marsteller (SO-Ursuline) and John Galvin (SR-St. Xavier HS) both contributed to winning relays for their respective high schools. Alisabeth also placed second in the 100 Back (58.86)
