Almost 600 of the top swimmers of the North-East qualified to compete in the USA Swimming IM Xtreme Games-NE, held in Washington, DC, this past weekend.
Three 11-12 boys competed in all 5 IM Xtreme events (500 free, 200 IM, 100 Fly, 100 back & 100 Breast). Times are awarded special points based upon how fast they are. All the points are added up from all five events and the top 16 Swimmers in each single age category is awarded a plaque from USA Swimming.
Steven Gray, who just turned 12 this past week, competed in the 12 Year Old boys category. With 135 boys competing, Stephen placed 22 overall, with Personal best swims in the 500 free, 100 back, 100 Breast & 200 IM.
Ryan Lee, 11, was awarded a plaque for ranking 6th overall, placing 6th in the 500 Free, 100 fly & 200 IM. Ryan splashed in with personal best performances in the 100 fly & 100 breast.
Jalen Ramjohn,11, was also awared a plaque finishing 9th overall. Jalen finished the weekend with 100% personal best swims with a 5th place finish in the 100 back & 8th place in the 100 fly.
Ian Bidwell, 14, competed Friday in the 500 free and placed 8th place. Due to a fever, Ian was unable to compete the rest of the weekend.
