DCST Improves Dual Meet Record to 9 – 1

             DCST improved to 9 – 1 on the season with wins over visiting Leaning Tower (Niles, IL) and Oak Park.  As a team, DCST had a good meet with 179 career best times out of a total of 319 swims for a 56% improvement rate. Furthermore, DCST had 23 swims which were first time legal swims in a new event for the swimmer. DCST also had 18 swims which achieved the District Qualifying, 12 swims which achieved the Area Qualifying time, and 1 swim which achieved the National Qualifying time for the first time this year.

            A very impressive 57 swimmers had a great meet with at least two career best times. These swimmers were:  Madison Aimone, Katherine Albano, Ty Ament, Austin Bockman, Owen Bockman, Acelin Bruhl, Palmer Bubb, Preston Bubb, Justin Buck, Maxwell Buck, Jordan Burke, Joanna Burnham, Celia Carpenter, Tyler Crown, Krissy Cutsinger, Noah Dean, Erin Fidler, Stephen Flaherty, Madisyn Grever, Hannah Hanks, Daniel Hein, Sarah Hein, Tyler Hull, Grace Johnson, Liam Joyce, Jack Keck, Jensen Keck, Carson Klein, Brianna Kramer, Colette LeBlanc, Megan LeBlanc, Jason Liu, Emily Mildner, Libby Mildner, Cole Moon, Kylie Olson, Abby Pardridge, Dane Pardridge, Dylan Rasmussen, Carson Rose, Bradley Ruetten, Avery Scott, Logan Sims, Abbey Siragusa, Matt Slider, Andrew Smith, Emily Stark, Andrew Tatum, Jenni Weber, Chloe Wester, Noah Wester, Anna Westhoff, Elizabeth White, Riley Wiegartz, Morgan Williams, Anbo Yao and Athena Ye.

            After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Grace Johnson, age 11, and Logan Sims, age 7, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.

          Next weekend, DCST will be hosting its Winter Classic Meet.  At this meet, DCST will have more personal best times than at any other meet this season.  The DCST Coaching Staff has set a team goal of 500 career best times for next weekend.  Therefore, everyone needs to be ready to swim fast next weekend.
