Team records highlight a good meet for Desert Thunder at the Lost Dutchman Invit

Over President's Day weekend, Desert Thunder swimmers completed the next step in preparation for their championship meets by competing in the 2012 Lost Dutchman Invitational.

Highighting the swims were two new team records. Ally Padilla set a new 13-14 girls 50 backstroke record in finals Saturday evening posting a 29.08. The following evening, the 13-14 girls relay of Erica Boeger, Sierra Bigelow, Ellinore Duncan and Ally Padilla  broke the 400 freestyle team record by just over one second, posting a 3:52.96.

New Age Group State Champ qualifications were earned by Jacob Garcia, Peyton Lentz, Tanner Komlodi, Dylan Edge, Edda Anderson, Fletcher Milloy, Simon Werkhoven, Ericka Boeger, and Gabe Rangel.
New Senior State Championship qualifications were earned by Brenden Ambrosius and Nathan Kroeger.
Finalists in both the age group and senior tanks included Cory Basselen, Elena Burr, Jacob Garcia,  Marina McInelly, Phi Nguyen, Finn Lynch, Ericka Boeger, Simon Werkhoven, Sierra Bigelow, Dylan Edge, Abhishek Rajadas, Archie Spindler, Gabe Rangel, Ellinore Duncan, Edda Anderson, Diana Gomez, Andrew Rangel, Ally Padilla, and Fletcher Milloy.  
The team came away with a great majority of improved personal best times.
