On Thursday, December 11, Grace Waller will have her port a cath placed (in the OR) at Rush Hospital in Chicago; and then on Friday morning, she will begin her chemo treatments. Grace will be receiving chemo treatments for somewhere between 29 – 40 weeks. After 10 weeks, the doctors will know if the tumor is responding or not. If it is responding well, then she will have 29 – 30 weeks of treatments. If the tumor is not responding well, then she could have up to 40 weeks of treatment. During the treatments, Grace will be hospitalized for 3 – 5 days. On week 11, she will have surgery to remove the tumor. All treatments and the surgery will be at Rush.
