Our Olympic Way and Regional Group Swimmers had an AMAZING swim meet here at Hollyburn on March 4th. Thirty of our Hurricanes participated in the event, including seven swimmers who had never competed before: Helen and Olivia Andres, Eamon Collins, Monique Kelly, Dale Roseman, Kianna Shahbazi and Ingrid White. Monique had an outstanding meet with a first place in her 25m back and 25m free, a second place in her 25m breast, and a 9th place in 25m fly. Eamon also had awesome results, placing first in his 25m breast, 4th in 25m free, and doing a 50m breast in 1:15.07! Congratulations to all of our first time competitors – we hope you had fun and will join us at our next swim meet. Of our more experienced swimmers, Morgan Bender, Connor Chapman, Genevieve Calamo and Jacob Chisholm did best times in ALL of their races - great job swimmers!
Seven strong Hurricanes swam the very tough 200m IM: Kourosh Shahbazi, Soliel Kerfoot, Jade Clement, Arell Bryski, Corentin Caer, Grace Robertson, and Connor Chapman – CONGRATULATIONS to Kourosh for achieving his LMR time standard with a 3:55.07! Many of our swimmers did 50m races and/or 100m IM for the first time as well; your strength and endurance are getting better. Your coaches are VERY proud of how our team preformed; all of our swimmers were looking stronger, faster, and more skilled than before. All that hard work is paying off – keep it up!
Go Hurricanes Go!
