Twelve Hollyburn Hurricanes attend Mies Schootman – new best times for every swimmer!
Congratulations to our twelve swimmers for another successful swim meet this past weekend – April 13 – 15th at UBC. Among our top performers were Jason Chow and John Hollands, each with seven best times out of seven races, while Calli Evans had five for five and Aiden Smith went four for four. Marisa Ruus had an amazing meet with five out of six personal bests. The Robertson Family also did extremely well; Angus swam two best times taking off a total of 37 seconds, while sister Madeleine swam best times in all three of her events. Natalie Reeves continues to solidify swimming with strong swims in the 200 IM, 200 back and 200 breast events; James Thornley-Hall also preformed well in all four of his events.
Four of our swimmers placed in the top eight, earning team points for their efforts: April Barnes and Carly Kanga placed 7th in the 800m free in the 14 and under and 13 and under age categories, Colby Evans placed 5th in his age category for the same event, and John Hollands placed third. Great effort and awesome results were achieved by all of our swimmers representing our Hollyburn Hurricanes Swim Team!
