Mitchell's Group:

Nitiya and Nitin Bhupatiraju made the most of their second ever meet!  Nitiya made quick work of the 5 new events she tried, getting three new B times in the process.  Not to be outdone, her brother Nitin went 5-for-5, getting all best times in his events.  Cynthia Le continued her hot streak, dropping time in four events and adding two more JO cuts to her ever-expanding stash.  Ashley Sand raced in the 9-10 age group for the first time, getting two best times and earning her first 9-10 B time in the 100 Breast.  Lindsay Brown was all A’s in her events and recorded four best times.   Rodrigo Abad also had a great meet with four best times and two new A times

Aaron Ly swam at his first meet and showed no evidence of rookie nerves, getting B times in both events he swam.  Zachary Mustapha also swam in his first meet, racing in three events.  Phillip Vakoula just moved up to the 9-10 age group and quickly got to work, swimming to one new A time and three new B times.

Nicole Bagdalian tried out three new races, and out of both days amassed three best times.  Monica Gong just aged up to the ruthless 11-12 age group and had a fantastic meet swimming four best times and showed her toughness by trying out two of the longer events – yes, including the 400 IM - for the first time.  Raissa Ly dropped a second in the 50 Free and swam the 50 Fly for the first time.  Niara Williams swam in her first meet ever and raced to four new B times.

Colby's Group:

Despite cold and, at times, rainy conditions, EBAT swimmers made the most of the Third Annual EBAT C/B/A+ meet on March 23-24, 2012 at Mills College.  Fueled by an exceptional snack bar, RC Zen swam a new A time in his 200 Free.  Anthony Chew earned a new B standard in his 200 free, and an A time in the taxing 200 breast.  Jesse Cervantes-Lopez swam in his first meet, and was cheered on by a large support system including his parents, siblings and cousins.  This raucous cheering section pushed him through all four events, including a new B time in the 50 Free.

Minh Ly swam four events and showed great diversity by earning a new A time in the 50 Free, as well as a new B time in the 400 IM.  Mark Gruzman got two new personal bests in the 50 Free and 100 Breast.

Stuti Bansal swam the 100 Breast for the first time, and swam a best time in her 50 Free.  Jessica Mi was tough as nails racing to a new A time in the 100 Free and trying new events like the 200 Free and 50 Back.  Lydia Deng swam 3 best times, and showed great improvement in her fourth best stroke, getting a new B time in the 50 Fly.  Last but not least, Aris Jernigan took on the toughest load of the bunch, competing in a total of seven events over the weekend, swimming four best times and getting a new A time in the 50 Fly.

Awesome Job All,

Coach Colby
