Hello all Aquacowboy Families, it has been a busy week for swimming and this will be a short update to highlight some of the great swimming our team did in meets over the weekend.
Aquacowboy swimmers competed for the first time at the Meet of Champions in Mission Viejo this past weekend. Among the particpants were Olympicans/World Champions Rebecca Soni, Jessica Hardy, Elaine Breeden, David Dunford, Nathan Adrian, Dominik Meichtry, Ricky Barons, Katinka Hosu, and several others. Nina Hayes swam great early season times in the 100 and 200 back placing 17th and 18th. Trent Trump had 5 best times and Katie Kulp had 4 best times. Haley Hamza and Andrew Hayes swam lifetime best unshaved times. It was a great experience for these kids and next year we hope to have even more swimmers participate.
There were some terrific swims at the Crow meet over the weekend as well. Jessica had a great 50 back, Daiki had a great 50 fly, Minh-nha had a great 50 free, Shahini had a 9 second drop in the 200 fly, Jenna had a 7 second drop in the 200 IM, Alex had big drops in the 200 bk and 100 fly, Megan went under 30 for the first time in the 50 free, and several swimmers had their first ever long course races. We are excited to see the big improvements and are looking forward to seeing more people participate in meets.
GREAT RACING OPPORTUNITY!: We are currently planning a meet with Tri-Valley Aquatics at Las Positas for Thursday the 24th of May. This meet would take place at 4:30 with warm ups starting at 3:45. Cost for the meet will be $10 per swimmer and will cover entry fees. There will be no regular practice on this day. Please contact Dezi and commit to going to this meet so we can enter you in the meet.
13&Over Movie Night: Tonight! Bring $4 and enjoy a great movie upstairs at the club. If you want to come over after the high school meet is finished you are encouraged to do so!
Thank you all Aquacowboy Families for the awesome job you do in helping this team become great. We are improving in many ways and are growing closer and closer as a team. Thanks to all BOD members for the great work you are doing to help our team!
