Vallejo C/B/A+ long course meet recap!

Last weekend Coach Mark and 8 EBAT swimmers traveled up to Vallejo to swim in a C/B/A+ Long course meet.

Beginning with our youngest and only 10 & under swimmer, Cynthia Le, who broke another EBAT record in the 50 fly, had some outstanding other swims as well. She swam the 400 IM for her 1st time ever! She also got JO cuts in the 400 free, 50 breast & 50 fly. Cynthia also dropped 38 seconds in her 200IM. Wow!  Great meet for Cynthia.

Our next swimmer, Nicole Bagdadlion, had an outstanding meet! Nicole's focus on proper stroke mechanics is stellar. I can see continued improvement for many meets to come as I know that she is a fierce trainer and I'm coming to notice that she is also a fierce competitor. Out of 7 swims she got 5 best times and one brand new time in 200 breast.  She is closing in on some "A" times and it's only a matter of time before she starts collecting those. Great job Nicole!

Lydia Deng had some great swims as well. She improved 5 out of her 6 swims! Great job, LydiaLydia has 4 "A" times from this weekend and had her biggest drop in 100 back.  Way to go!

Monica Gong managed to swim 8 events over the course of 3 days. She had best times in 4 events and the other 4 events were 1st time swims.  What events did she try for the 1st time? She swam the 200 back, 200 breast, the 800 free, and the 1500 free!  She managed to improve 15 seconds on her 400free!  Great job, Monica!

Megan Houston swam on Saturday only and had a very successfull meet. She improved on all her swims and swam the 200 breast for the first time ever. Megan made a deal with me, Coach Mark, about swimming the 50 free fast enough to be able to scratch the 100 fly. Well, she sprinted as hard as she could, but didn't quite hit her goal, although she did get a best time.  So she had to swim the 100 fly, but had an excellent swim knocking off almost 28 seconds from her previous time. Great job Megan!

Aris Jernigan had some very strong swims over the 2 day meet as well.  She swam 6 events and got best times in all.  A couple highlights include a first time ever 800 freestyle and a big 5 second drop in her 200 free.  Way to go, Aris!

The only boy in the group, Myles Williams, swam a strong meet over the weekend despite being surrounded by the girls. He had 3 best  times out of 6 swims and improved almost 6 seconds in 100 breast. Great job Myles!

Amanda Houston, the only pre-senior in the group, swam Saturday as a kind of tune-up for her high school champs this saturday (HAAL champs). Amanda looked good in the water and had some good races. She's been training hard and I'm looking forward to seeing some peek swims from her at Chabot College on Saturday!

Great Job to all 8 of you!  You make EBAT proud!
