This is an interesting article that gives some insight to one of the worlds fastest young swimmers, Missy Franklin. For those of you that haven't heard her name yet, get ready to know it very well during this summer's Olympic Games.
The article starts with Missy's introduction to the sport, and her coach, as an 8&Under swimmer until today; roughly eight years later. Now she is as a World Record holder and World Champion swimmer. She started and still swims today for her same coach and same team in Colorado. The team is small, doesn't own its own pool, and travels to a different practice location daily. Despite what some would see as debilitating circumstances, Missy has thrived to become one of the best (if not the best) female swimmers in this year's Olympic Games.
