This week is the last week of the spring schedule. Be sure you know the summer workout/meet schedule for your group and swimmers. There is a lot happening this summer, so here is a short recap of upcoming events:
Sunday, June 10: Del Valle Open Water Swim - .75 mile race begins at 8:30, must be checked in by 8:00, the 2.5K race begins at 10:00. Be there no later than 7:30 (Donnie will be there).
Week of June 11th - Summer workout schedule begins.
Week of June 11th - OA hosted Character Camp - details on the website.
June 13th - OA's Megan Liang travels to Bismark, North Dakota for the Para-Olympic trials. Megan will compete in the 50, 100 & 400 Free as well as the 100 Back. Good Luck Megan!
June 22-24 - Team hosted Orinda Aquatics Senior Meet. Job Sign-ups are out & the Snack Bar/Hospitality Wish List is coming soon.
Week of June 25 - Olympic Trials. Steven Stumph & Sven Campbell will represent Orinda Aqutics in Omaha for one of the fastest meets in the world. Steven will be swimming the 100/200 Breast & 200/400 IM. Sven will be swimming the 50/100 Free and the 200 Back at the trials. Go Guys!!! In addition several OA Alums will be participating at the Olympic Trials: Kim Vandenberg hopes to her fourth Olympic Trials. Collegiate athletes: Andrea Ward, Chris Peterson & Chris Leon will be participating in their first Olympic Trials. Good luck to all.

July 20 - 22 - Team hosted Junior Olympics South. Team meet for all qualifiers and relay swimmers.

Workout Schedules Updates
Senior Group: Regular Schedule - Friday AM only; no Friday PM. Sat AM - Regular.
Santa Clara Swimmers - Tuesday AM optional, Thursday AM - none.
Junior Group - Regular Spring Schedule: Mon-Tues-Thurs: 6:15-7:45. Wed 5:45-7:30. Friday & Saturday - none due to campo graduation and grad night. Monday begins Summer schedule.
Dryland Tuesdays: 5:45-6:15. Wear appropriate attire/shoes.
2012 Scholastic All-American: Each year, USA Swimming recognizes its members who excel both in the classroom and in the pool. The Scholastic All-America Team is made up of high school student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and who have achieved the required time standard in a single event. To be eligible for this recognition, swimmers must have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade and must be a USA Swimming member athlete. Eligible times must be swum between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. The application must be completed by August 15. The application for the 2011-2012 year will be available online on May 25th, 2012. We need stroke & turn officials: Are you interested in becoming an strioke & turn official, even if only at the meets your swimmer attends? Zone 2 will be hosting A Beginning Stroke and Turn Clinic during the July 7&8 WCAB meet that we will be attending. Clinic attendees will have a chance to be on deck after the clinic to observe swims first hand. . The Clinic will start at 8:30 am for check in and instruction will begin at 9:00am. Class will last approximately 2½ to 3 hours.

Sunday only! Del Valle Open Water Festival, Sunday, June 10th. This is the best(warmest) open water swim - a great intro to open water swimming. Orinda Aquatics will only be attending on Sunday races(8:30 am .75 mile (recommended) or the 2.5 km @ 10:00). [ Del Valle Entry info].
Napa Valley CBA+ Long Course, Napa Valley College, June 16&17. Meet Closed.
Enter Now! OAPB SR II Trials & Finals, Soda Center, June 22-24. Team Hosted meet; All senior group swimmers. Junior group swimmers who qualify.
WCAB B/A+ Short Course meet, July 7&8, DVC. Last chance to qualify for JO's. All Jr group swimmers (non-JO events). Senior Group TBA.
Entry times: It is best to use your best LC time. Swimmers will no long course times should enter a long course time that comparable to your unshaven short course times. Ex. If you are an "A" time swimmer in an event, enter a comparable "A" long course time...etc. Once you swim events LC, use your LC time.
Tiburon Mile Open Water - Enter soon/will fill up - If you plan on swimming the Tiburon Mile at the end of the summer, the online entry is now available (There is an entry limit & it will sell out). Let Donnie know if you sign up for the event. [Tiburon Mile Information].
Team Attire/Equipment reminder
We do have extra latex and silicon caps available for sale at the pool. The cost is Latex ($5) and Silicon ($12). If you need extra caps, talk to the coaches at the pool.
Do you have the current team warm-up jacket? Remember, all OA swimmers should have team warm-up, available at NorCal and also at least one team shirt. Remember, swimmers that workout in caps, need to wear team caps.
Training equipment - all swimmers need the required practice equipment for their respective groups. All necessary gear can be purchase from NorCal swim shop.
