*USA Swimming estimates that it has 300,000 registered swimmers across the country.
*Of those 300,000, only 1,500 athletes have made the cut to participate in Olympic Trials.  These athletes are among the top 0.5% in the country!
*Only 26 men and 26 women will earn the right to represent the US in the Olympics next month.  (The first and second place finishers in every event, plus a few more in the 100 & 200 Freestyle to fill out relays)
*Given the incredible depth of American talent, the US Olympic Trials is considered by many to be the fastest swim meet in the world.

This is an INCREDIBLE accomplishment!

Coach Peter Ward and our swimmers arrived in Omaha yesterday, and Coach Heather is flying out this morning after practice and will be there until July 2.  If you and/or your swimmer would like to wish Amanda, Ashley and Preston "GOOD LUCK", please send Coach Heather an email and I will forward your notes of encouragement and support to them.  You can also post your notes on the Mako Facebook Page.
