Dear VJO Swimmers and Parents,

Thank you to all swimmers, parents, and alumni for a great 2012 Pool Party last Saturday June 30th. We had some fantastic food and some great pool side fun. The family relays were an especially great treat. The 100 Medley Relay was won by the Powell/Viray team and the 100 Free Relay was won by the VJO coaches. The inner-tube relays were also a blast!

The following people where our 2012 BBQ Contest winners:Pulled Pork- John Dwyer, Ribs- Claudia Quintana, Chicken- Dwight Everett, Other (Pork Kabobs)- Arnold Caberto, and Other (Grilled Peaches w/ goat cheese)- Megan Neves.

Thank you to all the parents that made our 2012 VJO Pool Party possible!We would like to give a special thank you to Lourdes Viray, Erik Keilholtz and Melanie Keilholtz for organizing the event. Thank you to our awesome DJ Junn Capulong, thank you to our BBQ set-up masters Dwight Everett and Brian Hilton, thank you to our family relay announcer David Elmore, and finally thank you to all of those that helped set-up especially Diane Powell and Pam Henderson. We couldn’t have done it without all of you!

4thof July Parade
Swimmers and parents please come join us and help celebrate Independence Day and showcase our team spirit at the 159th Vallejo 4th of July Parade. Parents and family members are asked to join us in the walk too. Wear your turquoise shark shirt, if you do not have one or need another one, please see Diane Powell or Pam Henderson on deck to buy your t-shirt (T-Shirt:$10). Parade details can also be found online at and in your file folder.
*No afternoon practice on 4th of July, however there is morning practice for the Senior and Age Group from 6-8am*
  • Meeting Time:9:00am
  • Meeting Place: Louisiana St. off Broadway St. Please look for our turquoise shirts/Team Chevrolet truck along Louisiana St. We are entry #44.
  • Parade Route: Starts on Tennessee St. at Broadway at 10:00 a.m., travels west to Sonoma Blvd., then south along Sonoma Blvd. to Georgia St., then west again to end at Georgia St. and Santa Clara St.

Swim –a- thon
DATE:Tuesday July 10th (potluck to follow)
TIME:5:00pm - 7:00pm
Continue asking, calling, emailing, writing for pledges / donations. Online donations are already counted. If you are collecting on paper fill out the form (neon yellow paper that was in your file) put your name & amount collected and return to the Henderson File. See the progress board hanging on deck. Swimmers you may bring:
- fins and kick boards
- a bright colored suit or special capif you have one (show your individuality!)
- energy and enthusiasm, the goal is 200 laps.
Parents (we need YOU!)
- Count laps:Very easy, just sit (in the shade of the canopy) and count, keeping trackon the clipboard.
- Set-up and Take down:Yes, those canopies, tables and chairs we are using.
- Clean up:All, let’s keep the pool deck clean

Hotel Rooms R.E.A.L. Swimming Championships(Santa Rosa, August 3-5, 2012)
This will be our last team meet for the season. Reserve your room before 7/7/2012 individually guaranteed by credit card. VJO has 20 non-smoking rooms reserved with two queen beds for the nights of 8/3 and 8/4/12. Let them know you are with Vallejo Aquatic Club.

The Westside Aquaducks Meet in Petaluma on July 6-8 is full and entries have been closed before the scheduled deadline.
