DCST Swims past the Barracudas

DCST Swims past the Barracudas

The Kishwaukee YMCA / DeKalb County Swim Team (DCST) moved to 4 – 1 on the summer season with a 510 – 202 victory over the visiting Cary Barracudas.  As a team, DCST swam did not swim well with only 124 personal lifetime best times out of a total of 337 swims for an improvement rate of 37%.

After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Paige Summerhill, age 9, and Aidan Stanik, age 8, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.

The following 31 swimmers had an excellent meet with at least two best individual times in the meet:   Madison Aimone, Austin Bockman, Joanna Burnham, Krissy Cutsinger, Erin Dewitt, Mason Dukes, Grace Fergus, Sarah Fergus, Maura Fisers, Tommy Frayne, Avery Gerdes, Katie Hagaman, Sarah Hein, Carson Klein, Riley Lohse, Julia Luo, Caroline Mackey, Spencer Mackey, Abby Oberg, Dane Pardridge, Josie Rivera, Nate Robinson, David Ruetten, Nicole Skrzypek, Matt Slider, Aiden Stanik, Paige Summerhill, Libby Swedberg, Amal Tatum, Devin Vance,  and Madison Williams.
