DCST National Results Day 3 - DCST has 13 Best Times out of 14 Swims

            On Day 3 of the National Championship Meet, DCST had 13 career best times out of 14 total swims including time trials.  This brings the 3 day total to 25 career best times out of a total of 29 swims.  Moreover, the team set 4 new team records.  On the women’s side, Emily Launer and Caitlynn Moon took 5th and 9th, respectively, in the Women’s 800 meter Freestyle.  Both girls earn National All-American honors.  Caitlynn’s time was a personal best by 14 seconds.  Emily earned her second All-American honor of the night with her 10th place finish in the 200 meter Freestyle.  Her time in the preliminary session broke her previous team record by 0.8 seconds.  Moon took 30th in this event with a 4.3 time drop in the prelim session.

            In the Men’s 200 meter Breaststroke, Ryan Schultz set the team record in the 15 – 21 year old boys division, while Jacob Bjork set the team record in the 13 – 14 year old boys division.  Ryan had a 5.2 second time drop, while Jacob had a 0.03 second time drop.  DCST’s other new team record on the day came in the 100 meter Butterfly when Daniel Hein lowered his own team record by 1.2 seconds for boys ages 13 - 14.  In the same event, Jack Fergus had an excellent swim with a personal best by 1.1 seconds.  Sharron Isola also had a personal best time in the 100 meter butterfly with 0.6 second drop.  The Women’s 400 meter Freestyle Relay of Moon, Sarah Fergus, Brittnie Dean and Launer were outstanding with their 9.4 second time improvement.

            In the time trials, DCST had four swims with four personal best times:  Brittnie Dean – 200 meter Breaststroke (dropped 6.2 seconds), Sarah Fergus – 100 meter Butterfly (dropped 3.7 seconds), Shane Fergus – 100 meter Butterfly (dropped 1.0 seconds) and Tara Gidaszewski – 200 meter Freestyle (dropped 0.2 seconds).
