Job Function:
 
The ABP Manager position is based out of WADA’s Headquarters in Montreal, Canada. The
ABP Manager functions and responsibilities include the following:
 
• Liaise with International Federations (IFs) and National Anti-Doping Organisations (NADOs) to evaluate and assist in the implementation of the Athlete Biological Passport (ABP);
• Maintain global ABP status report;
• Screen and monitor ABP passports that are entered into ADAMS (Anti-Doping Administration and Management System);
• Liaise with medical and scientific experts and organize meetings to advance ABP modules (i.e. haematological, steroid, endocrine and genomics/proteomics modules);
• Assist in developing and updating present and future ABP Guidelines;
• Develop regional and WADA lab-associated Athlete Passport Management Units (APMUs);
• Assist in the preparation of legal cases when required;
• Assist in the implementation and management of ABP software in ADAMS along with science and IT experts;
• Assist science and medical directors in the evaluation of research for the benefit of the ABP;
• Evaluate the prevalence and effectiveness of anti-doping programs, particularly the ABP;
• Contribute to advancement of ABP by publishing scientific articles;
• Attend relevant conferences and meetings;
• Assist, when necessary, in other functions of the Medical Department
 
Profile - Knowledge, Skills and Abalities
 
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or related field;
• Experience in and knowledge of the field of anti-doping and international sport;
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry/laboratory science an asset;
• Computer/IT and statistical skills an asset;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Excellent oral and written skills in French and English. Additional language(s) a definite asset;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Ability to work without supervision;
• Fit with culture and organization values (e.g. teamwork, spirit and love of sport).
