Zone 1 South Meets Only
We have taken all NON–Zone 1 South meets off our meet schedule. This decision was due to the fact that any Non Zone meets SCSC enters, we must provide Swim Officials to help with the operations of the meet. Since we currently do not monitor or assign meet officials, we are removing these meets from our schedule. So, please do not enter any meets that are not in Zone 1 South. Important Information about the Intersquad meet Action Required
If you would like your swimmer to compete in the Intersquad Meet next Friday, September 21st, please send an email to JThompson@santaclaraswimclub.orgwith your swimmer's name, group and top three events.  Please also include whether you are bringing a salad, appetizer or dessert for the potluck.  SCSC will provide pizza!
We will be collecting a $5.00 donation from each swimmer the day of the event for our safety coordinator, Jared Jones, to help offset medical expenses accrued during the removal of a benign tumor from his brain.   If you would like to make a donation, please bring cash to the Intersquad Meet.

Board Election
The SCSC Annual election for the Board of Directors is around the corner. We invite you to submit your name as a candidate for nomination to serve on the Board of Directors. Director positions are for a two‐year term. The Nomination Committee will review the application and submit a slate of qualified candidates to the voting membership for election in the second half of September, Term of office begins Oct 2011. Stroke Clinic!

Event Schedule for Stroke Clinic (All events will be held at ISC)
These events are designed to help bring the team together and provide information to parents and families. Please attend as many as you can!
Monday, September 17th: Team T-Shirt Handout and speech from Head Coach John Bitter. All groups meet in bleachers at 5:30pm
Tuesday, September 18 or Wednesday September 26: Volunteering 101 and New Parent Orientation (Rotunda Conference Room)
We will host two seminars each day at 4:30 and 6:00pm to cover volunteer hours including requirements, how to sign up and different jobs available. We will also go over billing, team policies and other questions you may have regarding how the team works.
Wednesday, September 19th:Parent Happy Hour 5:00 - 6:30pm (Grass next to Learn to Swim pool)
During this time Head Coach John Bitter will give you a brief overview of the season. Kim O'Brien, our SCSC Volunteer Coordinator will be there along with COO Jamie Benes and Ad Campaign Coordinator Helen Yongyuth to answer questions about the upcoming season and our team plans.
Friday, September 21st: Dual in the Pool and Pizza Party 4:30 - 7:30pm
All swimmers will be placed on a team and be racing in SCSC's own Dual in the Pool. The club will provide pizza and we ask that all swimmers families bring something to share (salad, dessert, drinks) signups and details will be posted soon. We strongly encourage all families to attend.

Volunteer Hours
All are welcome to attend "Volunteering 101" in the Rotunda conference room (between boys and girls locker rooms), Tuesday, September 18 at 4:30 p.m. and again at 6:00.  We will go over what the volunteer obligation is and how to earn hours.  Both meetings will cover the same information, so you only need to go once.
Also, please note that any hours worked will not be entered until October when the new groups are determined, so please be patient if you do not see the hours in your account.  Thanks!


All National Team members are expected to have full attendance including Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Please note that the workout session from 5:30-7:00 is a Senior Make-Up workout. It is optional for all Seniors (National, Gold, and Silver) who can not make the Senior session offered at 3:30-5:30. This does not apply for the Try-outs from Bronze. All Try-outs from Bronze can only attend the 5:30-7:00 session.

Ladies, let's have 100% attendance for stroke clinic. Set up your good habits in streamlines after walls, then 6-8-10 dolphin kicks after streamline. We still need to rehearse our breakouts and finishes in all strokes. Have fun!

Congratulations on a great first week of stroke clinics and some awesome swims at the Gilroy Gators meet. Keep focused for the next two weeks of stroke clinics and continue to improve on fundamentals for each stroke. Go SCSC.
