Congrats to William Cross who competed at the Junior Olympic Championships in Morgan Hill over the weekend! The weather was not ideal but this did not deter Will from swimming his best! Will was met with a powerful storm, which brought wind rain and… fast swims!!! William Cross represented Albany Armada Aquatics at our first Junior Olympic meet in our inaugural season. William qualified in 7 events and improved in the 200 Free, 50 Back, and the 50 breaststroke, just off his Far Western cut in the breaststroke. Saturday brought better weather and more great swims! Will achieved a best time in the 100 breaststroke adding to his PR’s for the meet. Sunday brought the worst weather yet. The meet was delayed forcing us to make the decision for Will’s health and well being and deciding not to swim his last event, the 50 Free.

Will’s first Junior Olympic experience has given him a new sense of determination to further improve and work toward his goals of Far Western times. He looks forward to representing the team at the next Junior Olympic meet and Far Westerns. Be sure to congratulate Will on his efforts and give him a high five!

Go Armada!
