Dear Wolverine Families - the College of New Rochelle has asked us to once again help the campus ministry with their Advent Giving Tree - which is located at the entrance of the Wellness Center
The Advent Giving Tree
The Holy Family Chapel Community of The College
of New Rochelle is once again invited to take part in the Advent
Giving Tree, a community service project. Each paper ornament on
the tree lists a particular gift needed for a member of Providence
House, to which the gifts will be donated.
Directions for Giving Tree Participants:
Select an ornament from the tree. We ask that you select a gift that you are able to purchase and return the gift no later than December 18. Gifts can be placed under the tree.
All gifts must be newly purchased.
When you bring the gift, please DO NOT wrap it in gift wrap. Rather, we ask that you place your gift in a holiday gift bag.
VERY IMPORTANT: Tape the paper ornament onto the gift bag.
You may take as many ornaments as you’d like, but please only take as many ornaments for which you will purchase the item[s] listed.
DON’T LOSE THE GIFT TAG!!!
All gifts will be donated to the following Organizations
Emphasizing the dignity of every human person, Providence House affirms its commitment to provide shelter and support to homeless, abused and formerly incarcerated women and their children in a hospitable, non-violent, compassionate atmosphere. Providence House, a not-for-profit organization, began in 1979 when four Sisters of St. Joseph offered hospitality and a place to stay to a mother who was coming out of prison and reuniting with her young child. Many more mothers and children have followed over the past 25 years. To date, over 7,000 women and 4,000 children have lived at Providence House.
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. These gifts are for the children to whom the New Rochelle center ministers.
