Holiday Toy Drive giveaway

Dear Neptune Families,

We are kicking off our annual Holiday Toy drive and are collecting new unwrapped toys for those less fortunate this holiday season. Please help make this a wonderful holiday season for all!!

WHEN: Starting Monday Dec. 10th and ending Thursday Dec. 20th. On the 20th at 4 pm Santa Rosa Firefighters will come by Ridgeway Swim Center to pick up the toys and share a little holiday spirit with Neptune swimming. The fire truck will be open for kids to climb in and hang out in - WOW!!

WHERE: Ridgeway Pool Neptune Office - Toys For Kids barrel

WHAT: We need new unwrapped toys for all ages of kids. Each year we are asked which toys do we need the most and though we accept any new unwrapped toy, the toys for older kids, tweens and teens, are the ones we run short on.

ABOUT TOYS FOR KIDS: Since the 1950's the Santa Rosa Fire Fighters have conducted a toy collection for needy children in our community. This unique spirit of Christmas, conducted in cooperation with the community, businesses and supporting agencies affords an opportunity to reach out and provide those less fortunate children in the Santa Rosa area with at least one new toy during the Holiday Season. We are very grateful to the Neptunes for their support, we could not do it without you!

WHERE DO ALL THE TOYS GO: The 2010 Toys for Kids program distributed toys to children through the following organizations: Schools: Kawana, Biella, Bellevue, Lincoln, Steel Lane, Meadow VIew, Luther Burbank, Cook, Comstock, Sheppard, Elsie Allen, Head Start Selpa and Shelters: Redwood Gospel, St. Vincent De Paul, Women's Recovery, Y.W.C.A. Safe house, Children's Home, Homeless Shelter, R.E.A.P. and Athena House. Community Groups: Forest Winds Apts., Giving Tree, Kashia Reservation, Bob Burk's kids, Papago Ct. neighborhood Assn., Aston Ave. Neighborhood Assn. Gang Intervention Program, American Legion Auxiliary and R-Hoops.
