Our Senior swimmers brought their AAA game to the weekends Senior Championships held at Diablo Valley College! AAA brought 10 swimmers to the meet and came away from the meet with 100% improvement! Every swimmer who competed came a way with a best time! A great way to end the season for these swimmers, their hard work has definitely paid off! Here are few highlights from the meet!
Ally Fromson-Ho led the charge and was among the top swimmers at the Championship event. Ally represented AAA in the Championship final in the 200 IM, 100 fly & 200 fly. Ally posted a new Sectional qualifying time and personal best in the 200 fly event, a speedy 2:12.88.
Also among the top swimmers of the meet, Senior II swimmer Spencer Tang fought through injury to post a new personal best time in the 100 backstroke 54.61. Spencer was second overall going in to the final and also qualified for Sectionals in the event.
Alex Brown made a big splash earning a new Junior Olympic qualifying time in the 200 freestyle shaving 2 seconds from her previous best. Alex posted new personal best times in the 200 back, 50 free, 100 free.
Our biggest time drop came from Anja Hendrikse-Liu, she dropped a whopping 1minute from her previous best in the 1650 event, earning new ‘A’ qualifying time. Anja also posted new best times in the 100 back and100 free
Big time drops also came from Laura Spielman who had just come off some break through swims only two weeks ago at the Walnut Creek Meet. Laura posted a personal best time in the 200 IM, 100 Breast & 500 free. Laura raced in the bonus final in the 100 Breast & 500 free and took advantage of the second swim further improving her times and gaining some valuable race experience.
Teammate Belgutei Enkbileg had an outstanding meet earning a new ‘A’ time in the 500 free. Belgutei also posted new best times in the 200 free and 200 back.
Also in the new ‘A’ time club is Juliane Corpus! She earned three new ‘A’ times in the 100 free, 100 fly & 200 fly!
Stella de Salazar Goldstein competed for the first time for AAA and rocked the 100 breaststroke earning a new ‘A’ time and dropping 12 seconds from her previous best.
Not to be overlooked, our youngest swimmer at the meet and Junior II representative, Ethan Seder joined the Senior’s at the meet. Ethan earned a new best time in the 100 free, just shy of the Junior Olympic qualifying time. Ethan also swam the 100 breast dropping 3 seconds from his previous best and earned a new ‘A’ time.
Congrats to all the swimmers who competed over the weekend! They are an inspiration to their teammates and hope to see the momentum continue into the meet this weekend!!
