Hi Neptune families,
Swim practice is a wonderful thing - passionate coaches instructing young active athletes to achieve in a sport they love greatly. Safety of our athletes is our top priority. Coaches are responsible for actively watching all the athletes in their groups while they're in the water. USA Swimming, Neptune Swimming & the city of Santa Rosa support the policy of an open observation practice, however, only athletes and coaches are allowed on deck during practice times.
Use of the bathrooms and gathering young kids after practice are understandable and necesary. Anything that might take away the focus of the coaches or the lifeguard is not permissable. If you need to speak to a coach, send an email to your respective coach to set up a meeting or a reasonable to time to talk. If you need to check the lost and found, come in early when there is a front desk staff on hand to help search for lost items without pulling the lifeguard off the deck.
As important, once the practice is over the kids are passed back over to the parents and become their responsibility. It is not the coaching staff's responsibility to watch kids that are no longer participating in water activities. Prompt pick up from the facility is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your support & GO NEPTUNES!!
