This past weekend the qualifiers for the Ohio Junior Olympic Swim Meet travelled to Bowling Green, Ohio to pursue another title. Swimming in the closest meet in the 60 year history the Clippers fell just short of victory finishing in 2nd place in the overall team title. During the last day of competiton the lead changed an unbelievable 14 times between the Clippers and Raiders. “The competition was electric.” Coach Chad Rehkamp explained.  “The kids never gave in and fought it out to the end. We are very proud of them.”

As the scores were revealed you still had that thought in your mind that just maybe we had enough to pull off the upset of the no.23 ranked team in the nation. The coaches were so excited to see the parents get into the meet especially on the last day of the meet. “The kids are exhausted both physically and mentally during that last session”, said Coach Vennefron.  “The parents really got the kids motivated.”

This meet on the scoreboard might not have shown the victory that we wanted to see as a team going in but the feeling you got leaving the pool new that we had far exceeded expectations. We came together as a team with swimmers, parents and coaches and cheered on the great swims and consoled the not so great. The coaches want to thank all the swimmers and parents for another great run. Summer is just around the corner and WE WILL BE READY!!!
