DCST Welcomes Back High School Boy Swimmers (Seven Qualify for IHSA State Meet)
DCST would like to welcome back many of our high school aged boy swimmers who have been swimming with their high school teams. The boys just finished a very successful high school season. Overall, DCST had 21 boys represent 6 different high schools at 4 different sectional meets. Seven DCST swimmers qualified for the IHSA State Meet. Listed below are these swimmers with some highlights.
Algonquin (Jacobs) – Josh DeDina represented Algonquin (Jacobs). As a team, Algonquin finished 6th at the Barrington Sectional Meet. Josh qualified for the IHSA State Meet in the 100 Breast and 200 IM.
Aurora (Marmion) - Jack Fergus represented Aurora (Marmion). As a team, Marmion finished 5th at the Nequa Valley Sectional Meet. At the State Meet, Marmion finished in 7th place. Jack qualified for the State Meet in the 100 Backstroke and on both the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle Relay teams. The Freestyle Relay team finished 6th, while his Medley Relay team finished 7th at the State Meet.
DeKalb / Sycamore Co-op– Thirteen boys on the DeKalb / Sycamore team are DCST swimmers (Jacob Bjork, Austin Bockman, Michael Carlson, Marc Dubrick, Kareem Elkwae, Daniel Hein, Ryan Lindsey, Holden Mackey, Matthew Marchewka, Dylan Powers, Ryan Schultz, Tyler Schultz and Amal Tatum). As a team, they finished 3rd at the St. Charles Sectional Meet. Daniel Hein, Ryan Schultz, Dylan Powers and Marc Dubrick qualified for the IHSA State Meet in the 200 Medley Relay. In individual events, Daniel Hein qualified in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke. While in the 100 yard Breaststroke, Jacob Bjork and Ryan Schultz qualified for the State Meet.
Huntley – Ben Cazel, Chris Cazel and John Cazel represented Huntley High School. As a team, Huntley finished 4th at the St. Charles Sectional Meet.
Kaneland - Ty Ament and Phillip Cutsinger represented Kaneland High School. Ty and Phillip swam with DCST as their high school does not official have a high school team; therefore, the team was not allowed to score points at the St. Charles Sectional Meet
West Chicago (Wheaton Academy) - Carson Rose represented West Chicago (Wheaton Academy) High School. Carson swam with DCST as his high school does not official have a high school team; therefore, the team was not allowed to score points at the Lyons Sectional Meet.
