These three VJO swimmers were amongst the top eight selected from their age group to represent our Zone (Zone 3) at the meet this weekend. They will be competing against our 4 other Zones in Pacific Swimming (Zone 1 North, Zone 1 South, Zone 2, and Zone 4). Good Luck Ladies, Swim Fast! Thank you for representing Vallejo Aquatics Club and our Zone 3.
VJO Meet Re-Cap
Great job at our meet this weekend! We had over 95 VJO swimmers entered and swimming in our VJO C/B/A Feb 22-24 meet. The coaches would like to give a special thank you to the Senior Groupers for helping out and buddying up with our beginner and younger swimmers. Seniors you did a terrific job helping out the younger ones and we thank you for all your help. We had 21 new “B” time standards achieved, 18 new “A” time standards achieved, 2 new “JO” (Junior Olympic) time standards achieved, 1 new “FW” (Far Western) time standard achieved, and 1 new “PRT” (Pacific Recognizable Time) standard achieved. Sota Kanzan (14) achieved two first time ever JO time standards this weekend, one in the 100 fly (1:02.09) and one 200 fly (2:16.30). Sota also achieved a new Far Western time standard in his 200 fly (2:16.30) and will now be joining us at JO Champs and Far Western Champs in the Spring. Evan Augst (18) achieved a new PRT (Pacific Recognizable Time) in his 1000 Free on Friday night with a 10:12.74. Great job gentlemen!
Parents, thank you for all your help and support putting on the meet this weekend. We could still use more volunteers on the pool deck to allow the meet to run even smoother, but it was great to see more faces on the pool deck. Unfortunately we were a little shorthanded on Runners/Computer Room for the Sunday portion of the meet. Although we did end up getting plenty of volunteers for our Snack Bar on Sunday and can report a nice profit. Thank you again to all the parent volunteers that made our meet possible. We would like to also give a special thank you to John Yee our Meet Director for organizing such a great meet. John and his family spent many long hours organizing and running the entire meet for us. Thank you Yee family!
Shark Pride Day - Thurs Feb 28th 5-6:30pm
