As if you really needed another reason to watch Splash when it premieres at 8 p.m. ET, March 19 on ABC. Several of our very own club divers from the southern California area will be performing on show one and two, with several others also participating in the second show.
Eight divers from the Mission Viejo Nadadores, along with their coach Derek Starks, will be performing on either one or both shows. Participating are Mark Anderson, Matt Casillas, Raquel Corniuk, AJ Eckebrecht, Nicole Ford, Sammy Gallagher, Camryn Hidalgo and Colten Young.
MVN divers Raquel Corniuk and Matt Casillas.
Also performing will be Adam Gross of Crown Valley Divers, Annika Lenz and Madison Witt of SoCal Divers, Olivia Rosendahl of Trojan Dive Club, and Lester Wright, unattached. They’ll be joined by several older show divers.
Splash features 10 celebrities – Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Louie Anderson, Drake Bell, Chuy Bravo, Rory Bushfield, Nicole Eggert, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Ndamukong Suh, Katherine Webb and Kendra Wilkinson – learning to dive and then performing in an eight-episode competition.
The celebrities are coached by four-time Olympic champion Greg Louganis, along with 2012 Olympian Cassidy Krug, SoCal Divers and Olympic coach Scott Reich, Team A&M coach Wendy Lerew and Rose Bowl Aquatics coach Hunter Shafer.
2012 Olympic gold medalist David Boudia and USA Diving high performance director Steve Foley are the judges.
USA Diving will have stories throughout the show to give you an inside look at the experiences our club divers, coaches and judges have had on the show. Stay tuned!
