The Mexican island of Cozumel will be the centre of open water action this month with two challenging races set to take place in tropical, pristine waters, attracting many heavyweights of the international open water scene.
On April 13, the world's top marathon swimmers will take the plunge at the fourth stop of the FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup 2013. A week later on April 20, a tough competitive field will also be on display during the 15km race held as part of leg no.4 of the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix 2013.
Frenchman Romain Beraud and Brazilian Ana Marcela Cunha currently lead the 10km men's and women's standings while Italy's Simone Ercoli and Olga Kozydub from Russia top the Grand Prix men's and women's rankings so far.
