What is a swim-a-thon?

Swim-a-Thon is a fundraiser in which participants earn money for their team by swimming lengths of the pool. Swimmers have a two-hour period to swim a maximum of 200 lengths. Participants get pledges from businesses, family, neighbors, etc. prior to swimming, w hile others get pledges per length and collect the money following the Swim-a-Thon.


Pledge period: April 15 – May 15


Swim - A - Thon:  Wednesday, May15th at Ridgway swim center

-  5:00-7:00 pm for the following groups:

- Blue, Bronze 1,2&3, White, Red 1&2, Seahorse 1&2

Groups counting laps: Elite, Black, Gold & Silver

**** Pizza & ice cream party to follow for all participants **** (parents look for volunteer sign up list to purchase pizzas & ice cream)

Collection period: May 15th – May 28th

Money due by: Monday, May 27th to the Swim –A – Thon box in the team room at Ridgway or your account will be automatically billed for the minimum required amount due by each family on June 1.

Minimum required amount brought in by each family:

- 1 child family = $150

- 2 child family = $200

- 3 + child family = $250

** NOTE: CASH NOT ACCEPTED**Each individual family should deposit any cash that is collected and then write 1 check for the total cash amount to Neptune swimming and submit that check in your collection envelope.

Make up date: Saturday, May 18 at Ridgway

7:30 – 9:30 am for any kids who need to make it up

Here's how it works:

1. Attached below are sample letters (donation request & Thank You letters) that you can use to help your kids write letters to family and loved ones asking to help our team raise money.

2. Print out the 2013 Pledge sheets to help keep track of the people who have committed donations to your child.

3. Complete as many laps as possible on May 15th - then go back to the people listed on your pledge sheet and collect the money.

4. Please mark on the "memo" line on each check your child's name and training group.

5. Put all checks into a sealed envelope with your child's name clearly written on the front of the envelope.


Fundraising is important to the financial stability of this wonderful team we all care about.
