Host Family Needed

To all members of the Santa Clara Swim Club and their families:

My name is John Foster. I will begin training for a return to competitive swimming.  My goal is to make the 2016 team to Brazil.

I was a student-athlete at Cal, swimming freestyle for the Bears men's team. I am an NCAA All-American with Olympic Trials cuts.

I am looking for a host family that I could stay with for the Summer as I settle in for this 3+ year journey to the games.

I greatly appreciate the support and I look forward to meeting everyone.

--- John M. Foster

If you are interested, please contact John Foster at (510) 499-0855 or at

We will be doing another Learn to Swim clinic the weekend after CCS, May 18th 11am-1pm. Please mark your calendars and keep an eye out for the Bitter Truth for details!

Good Luck to all CCS participants this weekend.  All high school athletes need to enter the walk-on meet on Sunday.  Please remember that the walk-on meet is short course in the morning session & long course in the afternoon session.  Please swim no more than 2 events.

Gold - girls

Thanks to all who were in attendance at our parent meeting. Congratulations to Chloe Kenrow and Bianca Yongyuth, who made best times and achieved High Point awards at the 10-under Championship meet!!! Always have fun!!!

The key to a successful workout is a proper warm-up. The timeliness of swimmers on deck has become an issue. Swimmers and parents please note that our tardy policy introduced at our group meeting two weeks ago is now in effect. Any swimmer late to practice is to have a signed note from their parent/ guardian. If submitting a note is not feasible, please have the swimmer come and speak with the coaches before entering the water. Habitually late swimmers names will be noted, sent home, and their parents/ guardians notified.

Yellow 1/2

Last weekend SCSC proved to be the best 10 & under program in Pacific Swimming by dominating the 10 & Under Championships. We broke a Pacific Record, multiple meet records and took home 4 of the 10 possible High Points!!! The coaches are really excited for the upcoming long course season. Go SCSC!!!!

Yellow Bell 2:

"To uncover your true potential, you must first find your own limits and then you have to have the courage to blow past them."

We challenge you guys to push yourselves a little harder this week and see what your bodies are capable of doing.  If you are willing to go outside of your comfort zone and challenge yourself, you will be surprised about how much extra effort you can put into each practice.  All of that hard-work will pay off, we promise you.
