Coaching Staff for 2013-2014 Season

Hello Swim Team Athletes and Parents.

I am very pleased to announce that we have finalized the Hollyburn Hurricanes Coaching Team for the 2013-14 season.  The swim team has enjoyed another excellent year, with the size of the team reaching record levels.     Because of this success, we have decided that we need to invest in more coaching resources, moving from three full time, high level coaches to four.   We have also decided to reorganize the coaching staff and responsibilities to ensure that our athletes get the best coaching possible and that the team has strong overall leadership.      .

Effective September 1, 2013, CJ Brant will take on the responsibilities and leadership duties of the “senior level swim team” (Super Achievers & Provincial Groups), as the Senior Level Head Coach.  Carrie Matheson will be the Head Coach for Developmental Teams, coaching the LMR & Regional Groups.   Al Davis will be the Assistant Coach for the Developmental Team, coaching the Olympic Way groups.  Jeff Grace will be assisting CJ Brant with the Senior Team, as well as focusing on the Swim Fit group.  In addition, Jeff will provide support for key pieces of the team support infrastructure, such as communication, website, and celebration and recognition.

I would like to extend my thanks and congratulations to CJ, Carrie, Jeff & Al for terrific year in 2012/12.    I am personally excited to have this level and caliber of coaching for our team.    I do not think that there is a team of our size that enjoys this level of coaching talent, and I am looking forward to the impact in 2013/2014.

I would also like to express a special thanks to the Swim Team Committee for their ongoing support and contributions to the team.

Should you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Joanna Weiler
Director of Athletics, Hollyburn Country Club
