Special Update of Water Quality –
Water Quality is a huge issue with us.
For the Algae bloom, we are getting regular updates from John McManus, Administrator Clermont Soil & Water Conservation District. Mr. McManus is the father of longtime Anderson Barracuda swimmers.
Right now, the Algae bloom is located at the campground beach on the north-side of the Lake, and does not currently present any issue for us. The warnings are publicly disclosed at Beach Guard for all of Ohio.
Good Story: Last year Mr. McManus personally drove the water sample to Columbus for testing the day before the meet, due to an algae bloom. It was declared safe for competition.
For the Water Quality Report (e-coli), we deal with Robert Wildey at the Clermont County Board of Health.
Just thought you would like to know the level of detail we get into, who we talk to, and how we monitor the safety for our Open Water Athletes.
We would never put athletes into any water that is not completely safe.
Feel free to pass the information onto anyone & everyone.
