DCST has Success against Stingrays

DCST has Success against Stingrays

            The Kishwaukee YMCA / DeKalb County Swim Team (DCST) got back on the winning way with a 499 – 213 point victory over the visiting Huntley Stingrays.  DCST improved to 4 – 1 on the summer season with the win.   As a team, DCST swam okay with only 127 personal lifetime best times out of a total of a 320 swims for an improvement rate of 40%.

            After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Allie Peterson, age 6, and Adam Goelitz, age 9, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.

            The following 39 swimmers had an excellent meet with at least two best individual times in the meet:   Theresa Alef, Austin Bockman, Nathan Braun, Emily Carpino, Mason Dukes, Quin Dukes, Trinity Eissens, Alyssa Ferrigan, Tommy Frayne, Adam Goelitz, Serena Goelitz, Kaitlyn Goff, Jacob Gramer, Teresa Gramer, Jenna Hale, Nick Johnson, Noah Johnson, Elina Keswani, Magnus Keswani, Brooke Koehnke, Riley Lohse, Caroline Mackey, Spencer Mackey, Maggie McConnaughay, Emily Mildner, Libby Mildner, Julia Rasmussen, Kyle Rasmussen, Carson Rose, Bradley Ruetten, David Ruetten, Isiss Stuckey, Brendan Sullivan, Amanda Underwood, Anna Westhoff, Ritta Wi, Riley Wiegartz, Kiki Wittenberg and Andrew Wu.

            DCST will next be in action on July 12 – 14 at the Pleasant Prairie, WI USAS Meet.  DCST’s next full team meet will be the last dual meet of the season on Tuesday, July 16 at Geneva.
