Thirteen New Junior Olympic Cuts and Two Team Records at FAST Blue Meet!

Seventy-three FAST swimmers competed in the Blue Meet in Fullerton last weekend.  All but six of the swimmers achieved one or more lifetime best times.  Peter Bauer, Vanessa Buck, Alejandro Buendia, Sean Campbell, Elliot Cha, Nathan Chang, Kailee Chow, Ryan Chung, Ethan Dickinson, Christina D'Incognito, Aubree Fuher, Maddie Garcia, Campbell Gardiner, Maddie Gorrie, Trevor Holtgrew, Tyler Hong, Leah Johnson, Meggie Keung, Simon Lamar, Maya Lee, Jade Lingasin, Lizbeth Ramirez, William Soong, Jerad Spuur, Jasmine Spuur, Courtney Tseng, Kendall Wilson, and Erin Wu swam lifetime bests in all of their races!  Complete results can be viewed here.

This meet was the last chance to qualify for the upcoming Junior Olympic Championships.  Eight FAST swimmers achieved new Junior Olympic qualifying times: Alejandro Buendia (50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle), Sean Campbell (100 Butterfly), Nathan Chang (400 Freestyle), Campbell Gardiner (50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle), Leah Johnson (50 Butterfly, 100 Freestyle), Maya Lee (400 Freestyle), Clarence Mao (100 Backstroke), Kendall Wilson (100 Breaststroke), and Kaitlyn Yee (200 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle).  Congratulations, swimmers!
Two FAST Team Records were broken:
  • Girls 8 & Under 100-meter Backstroke: Kailee Chow -- 1:39.05 (Previous Record: Kailee Chow -- 1:40.07, June 2013).
  • Girls 9-10 400-meter Freestyle: Lilly Mazzi -- 5:19.08 (Previous Record: Mandy Schatz -- 5:27.00, May 2008).
