Impressive 89% Best Times and Three Team Records at J.O. Max Meet!
Sixty-five FAST swimmers raced in the J.O. Max Meet in San Juan Capistrano last weekend.  All 65 turned in at least one lifetime best and the team posted 267 lifetime bests overall!  Complete results from the meet can be viewed here.  Some FAST highlights are noted below.
 
Alejandro Buendia, Kailee Chow, and Skyler Kao broke team records at the meet.  Alejandro improved the 8 & Under Boys 200-yard Freestyle record by more than 9 seconds.  Kailee cut one second off the previous 8 & Under Girls 200-yard IM record.  Skyler dropped 17 seconds to reset his own record in the 8 & Under Boys 100-yard Butterfly.

  • 8 & Under Girls 200-yard Individual Medley: Kailee Chow -- 3:01.96 (Previous Record: Elizabeth Harita -- 3:02.99, February 2013)
  • 8 & Under Boys 100-yard Butterfly: Skyler Kao -- 1:26.34 (Previous Record: Skyler Kao -- 1:43.02, February 2013)
Erin Wu achieved a Junior Olympic cut in the 15 & Over 1000 Freestyle.  Her time of 11:29.81 earned a first place finish in the event and was a drop of more than 30 seconds!  Other big drops came from Jasmine Allen (21 seconds in the 100 IM), Alejandro Buendia (12 seconds in the 200 Free), Catherine Campbell (11 seconds in the 200 IM), Jisun Chin (37 seconds in the 500 Free and 12 seconds in the 200 Free), Kailee Chow (16 seconds in the 100 Free), Campbell Gardiner (15 seconds in the 200 Free), Elizabeth Harita (30 seconds in the 500 Free), Skyler Kao (16 seconds in the 100 Fly), Lauren Kim (11 seconds in the 100 Breast), Nichole Kuntz (13 seconds in the 200 IM, 31 seconds in the 500 Free, and 12 seconds in the 200 Free), Robert Lee (17 seconds in the 200 Breast), Joy Lim (13 seconds in the 100 Free and 12 seconds in the 100 IM), Tyler Lu (14 seconds in the 200 IM and 12 seconds in the 200 Free), John Mai (11 seconds in the 200 Free), Naina Makkad (36 seconds in the 100 Breast), Cera Mallory (10 seconds in the 50 Back), Leo Mancenido (18 seconds in the 500 Free), Natalie McIlveen (24 seconds in the 200 Free), Jennifer Muratalla (10 seconds in the 100 Back and 16 seconds in the 200 Free), Kenzie Murray (26 seconds in the 500 Free), Kevin Poma (11 seconds in the 100 Free), Lizbeth Ramirez (12 seconds in the 200 Free), Suhail Samidon (10 seconds in the 500 Free), Daniel Shi (11 seconds in the 200 Free), Cecilia Smith (15 seconds in the 200 IM), Mathew Tang (32 seconds in the 100 Free), Melody Tang (11 seconds in the 200 IM), Tori Torres (10 seconds in the 200 Free), Mack Woolery (11 seconds in the 100 Free), Erin Wu (12 seconds in the 500 Free), Aaron Yang (12 seconds in the 200 IM and 10 seconds in the 200 Free), and Baron Yang (15 seconds in the 200 IM and 15 seconds in the 100 Breast).
 
Four other FAST swimmers achieved new Junior Olympic cuts: Alejandro Buendia (200 Free), Campbell Gardiner (500 Free for Winter JO's and 200 Free), Elizabeth Harita (500 Free for Winter JO's), and Skyler Kao (100 Fly).
